I think this is almost right, but after 2. -- Rg8 white can play 3. Bg7+ and mate in 5. Black can get a couple more moves by playing something different on move 2.
Here is the solution for this puzzle. As you can see, it is very close to machinelf's solution. The main difference is that black was able to survive a couple more moves by making some sacrifices.
Mate in 7 and not mate in 5, right?
